Fees are reviewed periodically.
The specified payment day is Monday. Cheques etc. should be made payable to Melrose House. We are pleased to accept payments via Standing Order arrangements.

Melrose House maintains client accounts and records all financial transactions entered between the resident and Melrose House. Statements of these transactions can be provided upon request

Melrose House respects all confidential enquiries.

Assistance from Social Services?

Dependant upon an individual's financial circumstances an application can be made to the Local Authority's Social Services Department for assistance with Residential Care home fees ('local' meaning appropriate to the home address of the applicant). Social Services are then duty bound under the Community Care Act to give appropriate consideration to the circumstances of the applicant.

Unfortunately it is in the home's experience that such involvements are normally problematic due to ever tightening budgetary constraints. They also have, in general, a policy to impose upon care homes non-negotiable contracts of subjection whilst declining any realistic commitment to the true costs of an individuals care.

Please understand that any arrangements with these Local Authority departments must be subjected to approval of the proprietors of Melrose House before any acceptance can be made.

Benefits Agency?

An application can be made of the Benefits Agency for the payment of Income Support and/or Attendance Allowance. Please contact the local office of the Benefits Agency for relevant forms and advice.

There is a contract of residence available. Please enquire of the Managers office for a copy.
